Sevita Physical Therapy Supervisor in Farmington Hills, Michigan

Rehabilitation Physical Therapy Supervisor

  • Provide comprehensive leadership to the Physical Therapy program while also providing Physical Therapy services to participants in company programs.

  • Manage and supervise assigned physical therapy staff in all areas of assessment and treatment; including performance evaluations, scheduling, timesheets and payroll, orientation, and training as well as making decisions on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions.

  • Resolve employee problems within position responsibilities.

  • Evaluate program participants through appropriate assessment procedures; develop written treatment program for each program participant needing service; administer appropriate treatment programs and communicate program participant needs to appropriate staff.

  • Provide needed re-evaluation and programmatic changes as necessary.

  • Maintain timely and appropriate administrative and department documentation, adhering to Service Monitoring System (SMS) standards for department, CARF and licensure standards, and ethics of confidentiality.

  • Attend program meetings as requested for team reports, policy information, exchange of information, etc.; attend meetings to exchange, discuss, and evaluate program participant treatment programs.

  • Communicate with physicians, staff, professionals/paraprofessionals, consultants, families, and community resources as needed to ensure effectiveness of physical functioning therapy programming.

  • Serve on rehabilitation treatment team(s) on a consulting basis, providing input regarding performance/program evaluation of team/program participant members.

  • Plan and implement in-service programs in area for PT staff and other groups as requested/assigned by supervisor.

  • Provide weekly schedule request to meet PT goals of staff/program participants.

  • Write weekly service summaries and maintain daily billing summaries, ensuring timeliness of billing documentation for department.

  • Project and maintain department budget; ensure upkeep and ordering of therapy supplies and equipment on an ongoing basis.

  • Participate in program development for the physical therapy department, as well as for the Center (e.g. Re-design, new programs, etc.).

  • Attend supervisor meetings and in-house seminars/training as required and/or requested; complete all mandatory training.

    Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Physical Therapy.

  • Two or more years of clinical experience as a practicing physical therapist, preferably with intermediate or advanced clinical skills.

  • Current license and/or another discipline related certification.

  • Strong communication (verbal and written), analytical, and research skills.

  • Knowledge of therapeutic programming for neurologically impaired adults.

  • Knowledge of trans-disciplinary rehabilitation treatment approach.

  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to multi-task.
